Mass walkathon marks Swachhata Pakhwada at RINL

Visakhapatnam: RashtriyaIspat Nigam Limited (RINL), the corporate entity of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant on Tuesday organised a “Swachh Path” Walkathon as part of Swachhata Pakhwada 2026 at Ukkunagaram.
The event was organised by the Sports Department to promote fitness and raise awareness of cleanliness among employees and the community.
The walkathon covered a key route across the township. It started from Col C K Nayudu Ukku Stadium and passed through VSGH Main Gate, ICWAI Bhavan Junction, Sector 6 Ambedkar Park, Shivalayam Road, Alluri Sitarama Raju Statue Junction, and Temple Road before concluding at the stadium.
Around 400 participants joined the event including students from various schools in Ukkunagaram,, employees and yoga practitioners. The strong participation reflected growing awareness about health and hygiene.
Dr. Rakesh Nandan Sahay, Director (Personnel), in his address highlighted the importance of physical fitness for effective work performance. He stressed the need for regular exercise and active participation in cleanliness drives. He also appreciated the Sports Department's efforts in organizing such initiatives.
